The majority of the tourists comes to Bhutan for a ‘cultural tours’, so our ‘Bhutan tour’ package also consists of activities involving sight-seeing tour in and around the cities  Paro, Thimpu, Punakha, Wangdue , and Jakar. Apart from the mountain views, the monasteries and the forts shows the deep cultural heritage of the country.

During our tours in Paro, we will be visiting Taktsang Monastery also as tiger’s nest; this is one of the worlds most important Buddhist sites in the world. This monastery is on 1200 meters cliff built in 1692. The other interesting site are Kurje Lhakhang in Jakar, the temple was built around a cave with a body print of Guru Rinpoche is embedded in the wall.

Detail Itinerary

  • 01: from kathmandu to paro, drive to Thimpu.

    druk air flight to paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flight. flying from kathmandu, each flight is mesmerizing feat and offers exciting descent into kingdom of Bhutan. on arrival of airport our representative will receive at Thimpu, modern capital of Bhutan and overnight stay.

  • 02: full day sightseeing in Thimpu.

    morning hike to Cheri monastery, hike about 1 hours leads to chero goemba, zhabdrung ngawang namgyal built this first monastery in 1620 and established first monk body here. a chance to spot Mrs. Gould sunbird, yellow browed tit, yellow rumped honeyguide, long bulled thrush, ultra marine fly catcher. the hand made paper factory is aged old tradition in Bhutan from 8th century of Bhutanese history. handmade paper making is considered as heritage of Bhutanese culture and is preserved through all the ages. the traditional paper is recognized as high esteem in both house and outside also.

  • 03: Thimpu to gangtey.

    morning drive toward gangtey, we come across the dochula pass from here we can see the beautiful Himalayan range specially in clear winter days. the beauty of this place is further enhanced by the druk wangyal chortens- 108 m stupa built by eldest queen his majesty ashi dorji wangmo Wangchuk. in the mountains east of Wangdue phodrang lies beautiful valley called phobjikha on the slopes of which the monastery gangtey established in 17th century. the village phobjikha lies few km from the gangtey monastery. overnight stay in gangtey.

  • 04: gangtey to punaka/Wangdue

    morning visit gangtey goemba lies east of mountain Wangdue phodrang beautiful valley called phobjikha on the slopes of which the monastery gangtey established in 17th century. the village phobjikha lies few km from the gangtey monastery. this valley is winter home of black necked cranes which migrate from the arid climate of Tibet to north to pass the winter climate in milder condition. hike to chimi Lhakhang, this temple was built by lam Drukpa kuenley in 1499.it is the thirty minute hike from the road -wooden phalluses are often found hanging at four corner of house and also phalluses are painted in house. it is the common belief that it help in driving evil spirits. Over night in punaka.

  • 05: punaka/Wangdue to paro.

    after breakfast at punaka dzong, built strategically at pho chhu and mo chhu river built in 1637. until the second king it served as the seat of the king. later drive to paro, then visit rimpung dzong, the Bhutanese dzong are huge in architectural structure constructed throughout the country for various function, from administrative building to temple, yet they are carefully designed and maintained throughout the country.

  • 06: in paro.

    after breakfast take an excursion to Taktsang monastery, most famous of Bhutanese monastery. it is said that guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of tigress and meditated at this monastery so it is called as tiger nest. the excursion to the monastery takes five hour to complete round trip. Afternoon in paro visit ta dzong, the national museum of kingdom. originally built as watch tower, since 1967 it is serving as national museum of country and holding fascinating collection of art, artifact, thangka painting and Bhutan's exinitic stamp post. afterward walk down trail to visit rinpung dzong built in 1646 by shabdrung ngawang namgyal, first spiritual and temporal rural of Bhutan. overnight stay in hotel at paro.

  • 07: depart from paro.

    after breakfast in morning depart to airport.
