Nepal resumes international flight

The long haul of International flight restrictions is going to lift up from 1st of September .As 

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation MoCTCA Secretary Kedar Bahadur Adhikari confirmed that the ministry has already directed the concerned aviation authorities and departments to make necessary preparations for the resumption. As there has been a decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

 

Both domestic and international flights have remained suspended in Nepal since March 22. Other than chartered flights for humanitarian purposes or delivery of medical goods.
On March 20, the government had banned all passengers, including Nepalis, from entering the country.  From the European Union territories, including the United Kingdom. West Asia, Gulf countries, like Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan.
Four days later, it had imposed a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
There are still some countries that are imposing entry restrictions.
Nepal has suspended all passenger flights enforcing the nationwide lockdown on March 24 to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 150 new cases of Covid-19, taking the national tally to 17,994 with 40 deaths and 12477 recovered so far.
The government says the decision to resume flights was taken as some countries have already started to lift the coronavirus restrictions.
Airlines and tourism entrepreneurs welcome the decision of MOCTCA to resume the Domestic and International flights. The flights have remained suspended for over four months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
After the flight services resume in the country, it is expected to give a much-needed boost to the tourism industry which has struggled due to the pandemic.
“All flights will be operated by following special health and safety protocols,” as told by the Government Secretary.
 
“The airport can handle a maximum of 300 passengers per hour based on social distancing marking places,”. As mentioned by the government officials.
 
Tourism entrepreneurs said the industry can begin bookings for autumn. where all Domestic and International flights will resumes from September 1st, no matter whether anyone comes or not.
